Pantry Staples

As a frequent listener of The Balanced Blonde Podcast“Soul On Fire”, I always look forward to the point when Jordan asks her guests to share their Pantry Staples – so why not share mine? My pantry staples change every six months or so, but here are the items that I am loving lately.

Pre-Workout. I don’t drink much caffeine, so my pre-workout of choice is Transparent Labs PreSeries STIM-FREE. I workout early in the mornings and love a little jolt to perform my best. If I feel the need for some extra energy, I’ll drink SHEER Strength Pre-workout in cotton candy flavor. It’s really delicious.

Eggs. I keep both a carton of extra large eggs and egg whites in the fridge at all times. I add a runny egg to almost all of my dinners and usually have some eggs for breakfast.

Kale. Yep, it’s a trendy food, but I love it. There are so many things you can do with kale. I mix it up in my omelettes, enjoy it as a salad base, or sauté it with garlic for a dinner side. Plus, kale takes a while to go bad.

Organic Kale

Frontera Salsa. Jalapeno Cilantro and Double Roasted Tomato are my favorite flavors. This stuff is amazing. It’s just the right amount of spicy with unique flavor. I put it on everything from eggs to salads to chicken. You can buy this at Publix and other large grocers. Check out the products here.

La Croix. Any flavor. Any time. I love this stuff. Basically the only beverages I drink are water, coffee, and sparkling water, so La Croix is like a yummy treat to me. I don’t discriminate towards any flavor, but my favorite flavors are lime, coconut, and lemon. Then, I also LOVE the new funky flavors such as Blackberry Cucumber and Cherry Lime.

Grapes. Grapes are addicting. I always have a bag of fresh grapes in the fridge and grab a handful several times a day for a sweet, crunchy snack.

Ezekiel Bread. My husband and I love Food for Life ezekiel bread. You can find it in the frozen food section of your grocery store. I usually toast the bread at breakfast and top with peanut butter, jam, or a dollop of greek yogurt with cinnamon.

Collagen Peptides. I use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. This stuff comes in the form of a white powder that you can dissolve in any beverage, smoothies or oatmeal. I usually put a scoop in my morning coffee. Collagen is a natural protein in the body that promotes healthy skin, hair, bones, etc. There are tons of benefits from taking collagen including “youthful skin, healthier hair, and stronger nails.” (taken from the company website.) You can purchase it on Amazon here.
